PULSE 2011 - Focus showcase Cognos / Maximo integration

Now in its sixth year, Pulse has become a world-class technical conference focused on business outcomes for clients in every industry. This year's Pulse event, held in Melbourne on 27-28 July 2011, featured over 750 delegates and 30 speakers as well as a fantastic exhibition area showcasing the Focus and Certus capabilities.

Focus were able to demonstrate, both at the conference, and in a special pre-conference workshop, the live interconnection between the Cognos BI and TM1 components with a Maximo database containing assets, work orders and other key components. This provided both real-time and staged access to Maximo data with ad hoc analytics, slice and dice viewing and drilldowns to detailed Maximo Asset Management transactions. It's a great example of taking the technical theory and making it happen in the "real world".

The conference program included IBM clients, business partners and industry experts with sessions centred on key service management focus areas:
• Integrated Service Management,
• Service Availability & Performance Management,
• Storage Management,
• Security and Compliance Management,
• Enterprise Asset Management.
